Medical Reiki™
I am a certified Medical Reiki™ Master

If you would like a Medical Reiki™ Master present in the operating room during your surgery, I am available to provide you with this service.

I was trained by Raven Keys who is the Medical Reiki™ Master that Dr. Oz and Dr. Feldman have in their operating room when they are performing surgery.

When booked by a patient to administer Reiki during their surgery, I meet them at the hospital the morning of the surgery and stay with them throughout the day, moving through the hospital with them and administering Reiki before, during and after surgery. While the patient is under anesthesia, I will be in scrubs and surgical mask standing near the patient's head holding my hands close to the patients scalp as healing energy flows through me to the patient.

According to Dr. Feldman, "Reiki elevates the entire operating room toward a place of healing rather than a place where technical procedures are performed on the human body."

Patient requests for Reiki as they undergo high-risk surgeries are on the rise. Surgeries go more smoothly and recovery times are faster when Reiki is present. Patients experience a lot less pain after the surgery and they don't need as many pain pills.

Over 800 hospitals in Canada and the U.S. have adopted Reiki as part of patient care (1).  And now Reiki in the operating room is gaining attention as it has shown to greatly reduce anxiety and stress related to surgery and improve patient outcomes.

A 2016 study published in the journal Nursing (2) found that Reiki significantly reduced pain in patients after knee surgery. Numerous small studies show a reduction in depression and fatigue in cancer patients who received Reiki, and a rigorously controlled study in the Journal of Orthopaedic Research (3) showed that cells in test tubes treated by Reiki practitioners grew better than those in an untreated control group.  Another study investigated the effects of Reiki therapy on pain and anxiety in patients attending a day oncology and infusion services unit and results showed Reiki to be helpful in improving well-being, relaxation, pain relief, sleep quality and reducing anxiety (4).  A pilot study examined the use of Reiki prior to colonoscopy to reduce anxiety and minimize intraprocedure medications (5) and found that patients who received Reiki therapy did not require additional pain medication, suggesting that anxious people benefited from Reiki; anxiety and pain were decreased by Reiki therapy for patients undergoing colonoscopy, and additional intraprocedure pain medication may not be needed for colonoscopy patients receiving Reiki therapy.
